No Body | 2009 | ceramic | ø 40 mm
The inspiration of this project is rooted in cremation stones
used to identify the ashes of the deceased. Identification is
done by an unique number, which refers to personal records.
This object is purely functional and has nothing to do with
the identity of the person who died. From the moment the
cremation stone represents the body, the identity is gone.
To bring back the identity. A trace of the deceased is left
on the surface of her new cremation stones. The transformation
is not into a number, but into a personal memory.
‘Nº Body - a trace of somebody.’
